Villa Albella is one of those special places where beauty manifests itself in its purest and most concentrated form, transforming and energizing. “The villa on the white hills" is situated in a strategic location
near an ancient trade route, existing since the time of the Etruscans. First mentioned in historical documents as far back as 1100 A.D.,
the villa has been owned throughout its centuries-old history by a multitude of distinctive personalities – noble families, feudal lords, a writer, a movie director, each one leaving his own trace, sensibility, and message encoded in this special place.
The villa's new story begins in 2018 when two Bulgarian families, enchanted by the place and its magic, decide to purchase the beautiful but decadent wine estate and breathe new life into it. However Bulgarian presence has been documented as early as the 7th century, when one of the brothers of Khan Asparuh.
Смята се, че и селището Болгери недалеч от Вила Албелла носи това име заради български военен лагер, разположен някога тук. Вила Албелла днес е истински оазис на красота, тишина и хармония.
This connection is also reflected in the artwork of the Bulgarian artists Petko Arnaudov and Valentin Angelov, who have painted with a “Bulgarian” aesthetics and sensibility the interiors of each of the luxurious rooms in a unique way.
With its six suites, each uniquely designed, the villa blends traditional Tuscan elements with modern design and subtle, understated luxury. Every detail is selected with great care and love. The bed linens are handmade in Bulgaria by the company Odaya, whose mission is to preserve the authentic Bulgarian tradition and support the female artisans dedicated to this beautiful craft and their families. Sound technology by Bang & Olufsen, amenities by Ortigia, bathroom textiles by ABYSS, mattresses by Flou and Vispring.
The interior design is by the Milan based studio Spagnulo & Partners, design and furniture were chosen in partnership with Studio Mohd, one of Italy's leading interior design studios, representing top brands as Gervasoni, Giorgetti, Catellani, Désirée, Minotti, Flou, and more. The fusion of Italian creativity and design with the Bulgarian sense for beauty and comfort confers to the villa a unique atmosphere, exclusive and elegant, yet warm and cozy.
